Bravo and Welcome to Manhattan Children’s Theatre and with us we have the stars Bruce Merrill, President and Artistic Director and Chris Alonzo, Managing Director, Designer, Director and Actor with MCT since 2003. MCT is in it’s 7th season since it all began in 2002 by Bruce and Laura Stevens, Executive Director, Secretary and Treasurer. They both met working together for Vital Theatre Company which Laura began in 1999 producing original works for both children and adults. Bruce for two seasons toured with Missoula Children’s Theatre and as actor/director he directed over 3,500 kids in over 70 different productions. Wow when did you sleep? Scorpion Laura, Hubby and son Oscar recently moved to London she is still actively working for MCT but at long distance and in between helping out Amy Winehouse and Boy George and being doubles player with the Willams sisters at this years Wimbledon, can I start rumors or what. Chris was director and actor for a MCT show called If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and the star of one of my faves Robin Hood both getting wonderful reviews in the NY Times. Receiving 4 arrows and 4 chocolate chips. With If You Give a Pig a Party based on the book by Laura Numeroff and adapted for the stage by Nancy Schaeffer opening Feb. 28 -April 12 they are hoping for 4 oinks. First they have to give a final bath to Harry the Dirty Dog ( Harry rumor to be Stump’s understudy the winner of this years Westminster) the show that Cats loathe to watch and received 4 barks.
