There’s no business like BIZ KIDS and it’s founder and teacher Peggy Lewis who is loved, respected and adored by all of her students past and present and she treats all of them equally. We have two of her students with us but really four if you count Bruce and I cause we learn a lesson or two about ourselves when it comes to speaking the English language. Queen Peggy’s students Sir James Nathaniel Cellum and Princess Noura Jost share a live reading from plays they have been working on with us. We also learn James is an avid reader and is currently reading the novel War and Peace I for one can’t even lift the book. Noura is a competitive swimmer and when she did her reading scared me more than Friday the 13th did. The song Pinky and the Brain brainwashing all of us was picked by James another scare for me. The training program is Classic Conservatory-style training and involves mime, mask space improv, speech, dance/movement, stage combat, interpretation of scripts from Classics to Contemporary for film, television and theater. From ages 6 to 18 and adult classes are offered too all at Pier 40 studios south side. Peggy has been sharing her wisdom with all of her students for the past 25 years never clowning around or maybe does especially when she almost breaks out in song and dance with me.
