Everyone loves a good story no matter what age and in these times one with a happy ending. David Gonzalez as a storyteller delivers one with us and it’s all about the Hudson River Quadricentennial Concert, David’s piece called Oh Hudson, in celebrating it’s 400th anniversary which takes place Friday March 13 at Tribeca Performing Arts Ctr.@ 7:30 pm and then Saturday, March 14 at Paramount Ctr. for the Arts in Peekskill. He takes time out from a recording session to strum a few strings and give us a nifty tune off his guitar as well. A man of a lot of titles including storyteller , musician, composer, band leader and poet even doctor for receiving his doctorate in music. He is described as a New York Puerto Rican version of Bill Cosby. He has been honored with the Helen Hayes Performing Artist of the Year Award nominated for a 2006 Drama Desk Award for his production of The Frog Bride He loves to produce a lot of community driven projects involving politics/art activist and is currently working on Wounded Splendor which will premiere in 2010. Raised in the Bronx is enough of a story and experience in itself take it from one who has been there me for 16 years. David enjoys performing to all age groups and it certainly shows to doing it to more than 5,000 audiences worldwide. In his storytelling he fuses in speech, sound, mime,imagination and dance together to a Happy Ending.
