Interview with Gail Murphy, founder of The Coop and Food Exchange of Altadena, California. Gail promotes the concept that there is abundant organic food (fruits, vegetables, nuts) available in our backyard communities that we can share, trade, sell and also exchange for other food that we want. Gail has initiated a wonderful permaculture paradigm in her community, that can adopted in other parts of the country by people who want to become less dependent on the supermarkets for their food and explore the possibilities available to them in their own communities for sustainability and self-sufficiency. When food prices skyrocket even more than they already have, we will be happy that we have adopted this model… or at least been introduced to it.
